The Saturday Showdown is South Africa’s newest and hottest prime-time TV sports games show. Lighting designer Ryan Lombard was delighted to be asked onboard and he seized the opportunity to use Robe moving lights, including MegaPointes which were a new investment for rental specialist and lighting supplier, Blond Productions.
Ales Pirman is a man who puts his money where his mouth is... He runs a very successful lighting rental company – Intralite - in Slovenia, has always loved music and in 2018 decided to promote his own event – Castle - Kolpa Music Festival - staged over four days at a beautiful site near the Kolpa River, close to the Croatian border.
South African LD Peter Rieck of Rieck’s Lighting and joint owner of rental company Event Lighting, was selected by Red Pepper Pictures for the second year running to light Lip Sync Battle Africa. He specified an all Robe moving light rig comprising Spikies and Pointes.
Teamwork is a great thing, and this was clearly evident for Slovenia’s 2017 PopRock Festival, a high profile national TV live event broadcast from Ljubljana, where lighting designer Crt Birsa and set designer Greta Godnic worked their creative magic in a special collaboration … with the help of 200 plus Robe lighting fixtures!
